Robert Kiyosaki - retired with $10K a month passive income from real estate investing.
Robert Kiyosaki
, real estate investor, co-creator of the game - "Cash Flow", business man and entrepreneur, and author of a number of books, most notably, "Rich Dad Poor Dad"
couldn't stay retired.
He had too many things to do.
But during that retirement, he put a good deal of thought into helping other people became millionaires - and how to think like a millionaire.
Since he came out of retirement, he has been a real advocate of "financial intelligence".
In May, 2005, I met John Burley, one of the Rich Dad Advisors in Seattle.
He told me something that kind of burst my bubble - on the one hand - and made me respect Robert Kiyosaki even more on the other.
John Burley said that there was no 'rich dad' from the story, in real life. He was a fictitious character.
Burley is an awesome real estate investor doing an average of 12 deals a month and having made over 15,000 written offers since ~1989.
Wow...
Robert Kiyosaki is the first guy that told me (at seminars and in books) - that for most people - their house is not an asset, it is a liability.
His whole approach to reading financial statements is really interesting and gives you a different perspective on how to identify how to make money work for you.
Since he said he hated studying accounting and was always a poor student, he had to figure out a way to make accounting fun - so he would get good at it.
That's what the "Cash Flow Game" is all about. As a player you keep your score on a tally sheet, which is actually a balance sheet. If you play the game right, and as you learn how, it teaches you how to make strategic moves in investments and real estate to maximize positive cash flow and to get out of the "rat race", you have to play until your passive income exceeds your monthly expenses.
What a fun game and a great way to teach about cash flow.
Kiyosaki is kind of unorthodox and he has often said to critics of his literary style,
"I may not be a best selling author for my literary skill. But I am a best selling author because I am a hell of a salesman."
I like this guy and he really helped me rethink my approach to business and real estate investing.
I recommend reading his stuff and getting some of the books for your library. "Retire Rich, Retire Young" is a good one.
This guy is a great role model and seems to really enjoy his life.
