Living Deliberately
Greg often quotes Thoreau about living deliberately. Here is Thoreau's original quote:
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms, and, if it proved to be mean, why then to get the whole and genuine meanness of it, and publish its meanness to the world; or if it were sublime, to know it by experience, and be able to give a true account of it in my next excursion."
Greg Pinneo eats, breathes, thinks and dreams deliberately. He has trained his mind to remove limits and has mastered the art of concentration in daily life. He is a real estate samurai - zen warrior, philosopher and hunter - always alert with a 12 gauge and #6 bird shot if a bird flies.
Yet, he takes the time to notice the little things that matter and immerses himself in the noticing.
He delegates any action and activity that does not bring him closer to enabling his greatest potential and living fully.
He 'broke the gauge' long ago, as he puts it. It is the guage inside each of us that cares about what others think.
He first objective with each new student is help them break their gauge and conquer their worst fears so they can get on with life the way it is meant to be.
Greg Pinneo is not concerned what other people think about him, but he truly cares about people.
Greg Pinneo Seminars
Greg Pinneo says that there is only one mission in his
real estate investing seminars
and that is 'to change the way you think'.
He insists that the only difference between himself and the student is that he thinks differently.
Greg Pinneo has had a disturbing effect on me by challenging my thinking and turning it inside out. Yet he has reawakened in me the enthusiasm for life that had dimmed lately.
If I had to choose people that I could rely on in a life and death situation from all of the people that I have known in my lifetime, this list would include a very select and small group. Although I don't know Greg Pinneo very well, my gut tells me that he's one of the people I would want watching my back.
Greg Pinneo launched the Real Investors Association in Seattle, June 7, 2005.
